尊田エバ（実用的な英語会話担当；すべての年齢層対象）：米国バージニア州出身。1999年春に夫（望）と日本に来日。以来、山口の土地と人の美しさに感銘を受けながら住んできました。自然が大好きで、ハイキングをしたり、神社仏閣を訪れるのが趣味です。動物が大好きで、今犬2匹に猫3匹を世話しています。その他、趣味としては読書・料理（ベーキング）・ウクレレ・図画工作また、保健衛生に強い関心があり、特に心と体の関係に凝っています。地域奉仕活動として子供の心の教育や社会的・道徳的テーマに関する勉強会も主催しています。本人曰く、「日本のように美徳豊かな文化に生活できてとても光栄です」。
Eva Sonda (Instructor
of all ages, focuses on practical English conversation): Eva was
born and raised in the USA. She and her husband, Nozomu, came to live in
Yamaguchi in the spring of 1999. She has enjoyed and continues to
appreciate her life here in Yamaguchi as she finds both the land and the people
full of beauty. She loves Mother Nature and is fond of hiking as well as
visiting local shrines and temples. She has a great love for animals,
namely her pet collection which is currently at 2 dogs and 3 cats. Aside
from caring for her pets, her hobbies include reading, cooking/baking, playing
the ukulele and simple arts & crafts. She has a keen interest in the
health science field; in particular the relationship and harmony among the body,
mind and soul. She also takes part in various community building
activities such as volunteer education-of-the-heart children’s classes and
study circles on social and moral topics. In her own words, “I am humbled
and grateful to be living a culture so rich in virtue as Japan is.”
尊田望＜デイレクター；大学生・社会人英語教育；翻訳通訳＞福岡県久留米市出身。高校交換留学で米国カンサス州に1年滞在後、米国の大学で心理学を勉強し、帰国。翻訳通訳・語学の分野で仕事をした後カナダの国際学校で教鞭をとる。そこで妻のエバと出会い、日本へ帰国し、ワンワールド・インタナショナルを設立。現在は主に大学や専門学校で語学や異文化理解の授業を担当している。その間、働きながら、英国バーミンガム大学で「第二言語・外国語としての英語教育」分野で修士号取得。趣味がジョギングと歌とギター、ときおりパンやクッキーを焼いたりもする。地域奉仕として若者対象のユース・デイスカッション・グループを提供している。
Nozomu
Sonda (Director, instructor of college/university and adult classes,
translator-interpreter): Nozomu was born and raised in Kurume, Fukuoka Pref. As a high
school exchange student, he spent one year in Kansas, USA, which changed his
life. After graduating from a university in the United States (Kansas State
University) with a major in Psychology, he returned to Japan and worked as a
translator-interpreter and an English teacher. He then moved to Canada to teach
at an international high school, where he met his wife, Eva. Nozomu came back
to Japan with his wife and started One World International. While teaching, he
pursued his further studies in Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language at
Birmingham University (UK). He currently teaches at local colleges and
universities and does occasional translation-interpretation jobs. Nozomu’s
hobbies include running, singing, playing the guitar and baking. He also offers
community service through his Youth Discussion Group, where college youth and
young working adults talk about social-psychological-spiritual topics and
deepens their understanding about the world.
